What is vape juice?
Vape juice, also called e-liquid, is the liquid you fill into a refillable pod or tank. The device heats it on a coil and turns it into vapour. A bottle is made from four things: propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerine (VG), flavouring and, in most bottles, nicotine.
- PG carries flavour well and gives more throat hit.
- VG is thicker and makes more vapour with a smoother feel.
- Flavouring gives the taste, from fruit and ice to tobacco style blends.
- Nicotine comes as nicotine salt or freebase nicotine, in different strengths.
Pod kits have small coils, so they work best with the thinner, balanced PG and VG mix used in salt nic pod liquids. Very thick, high VG juices are made for larger sub-ohm tanks.
Salt nic or freebase: which vape juice should you choose?
Nicotine salt (salt nic) e-liquid feels smoother at higher strengths, so it is the usual choice for pod kits and for people moving from cigarettes. Freebase e-liquid feels harsher at the same strength and is mostly used at low strengths in bigger tanks. If you use a pod kit, start with salt nic.

Which nicotine strength is right for you?
Strength is shown in mg per ml or as a percentage: 20mg is 2% and 50mg is 5%. As a rough guide, light or occasional smokers and most pod users are comfortable at 20mg salt nic, while heavy smokers often prefer the stronger feel of 50mg disposables. Match the e-liquid to your device

How to choose a flavour
Most salt nic ranges are built around fruit, ice (menthol cooled) and tobacco style flavours. Start with a flavour family you already enjoy, and buy a single bottle first when you try a new brand. Once you know what you like, a box of 5 Vozol Salt Prime or Pod Salt Core works out at AED 36 a bottle instead of AED 40.
Price per ml and the UAE vape tax
A 30ml bottle at AED 40 works out at about AED 1.33 per ml, or AED 1.20 per ml in a box of 5. Since 1 September 2026 the UAE taxes vape liquids on a minimum value of AED 1 per ml, with excise at 100 per cent, so genuine e-liquid from a licensed shop already includes that tax. How to store vape juice
Keep bottles closed, upright and out of direct sun, and never leave them in a hot car, which is easy to forget in a Dubai summer. Heat and light change the taste over time. Keep e-liquid away from children and pets, as nicotine is harmful if swallowed.

It means 20 milligrams of nicotine in every millilitre of liquid, also written as 2%. A 30ml bottle at 20mg holds 600mg of nicotine in total.
